I grew up (and still am) an avid Sherlock Holmes fan. As much as I enjoy the mysteries, I never thought the genius detective would give such great insight for business: simplicity!
Think about HOW we all do WHAT we do. Is there a simpler way. Not necessarily easier but simpler. More straightforward, more straightline.
If we spent 2011 focused on growing our revenue and margin balanced with nothing more complex than simplifying our internal operations (i.e. how we handle people, customers, billing, etc.) we would have a “capital” year (to quote Holmes again).
