That’s the way we’ve always done it.

They told me I had to do this.

I don’t ask questions; I just do what I’m told.

Nobody can do it the way I can do it.

But my client is too picky.

They’ll never go for that.

I just need to touch it.

I don’t know.

Do you recognize these phrases? They are the answers we all hear when we ask why we do something a certain way (or at all). Never be afraid to ask why, to challenge the process, to make improvements. And never accept any of these as legitimate answers.
